Workshops and discussions - In the spaces between the solid and the otherworld, the 3-dimensional is not quite as fixed as one may have thought, and the unseen becomes more easily manifest. This is the place of ferment... WtT workshop presenters are welcome to bring knowledge they have to add to the brew... Discussions in past years have explored fae-touched magic, machine magic, otherkin sexuality, fae-mutated Reiki and other healing modalities, awakenings, hosts, hearth magic, intentional communities, fencing, Feng Shui, Runes, and more. If you want to do a workshop or discussion for WtT, please email rialian@his.com with a brief description or send to the PO box shown at the top. We may also be creating and doing a main ritual again this year, something to provide the tone/focus of this year's gather (TBD). Afterwards will be bardic storytelling and drumming around the fire circle, so bring a story to tell or a song to sing, and drumming and dancing afterward. Vendors are encouraged to come (no fee) if you have otherkin-related wares. Leather work of all kinds, 7-pointed stars and other medallions, kin-related art/sculpture/comix/zines, beautiful and unusual handmade clothing, and jewelry are irresistible. If you make music (non-electronic, around the fire), we invite you to share it with us. Registration - We will have Prereg until May 31. The preregistration fee is $55. After that, it will be $75 at the gate. Special arrangements can be made for people coming from a long distance. Children under 12 are free. Between May 31 and the date of the gather there exists this chaosphere in which we slip entirely into overdrive and probabilities become mutable. Meals - The meal situation is still TBD. 4QF no longer allows self-serve or field kitchens, and we may have to have a designated kitchen staff in order to be able to use the kitchen at all. This might take some early planning. If anyone wants to cook for the gathering, please contact Rialian. Camping and Facilities - the grounds are wild (or at least wilder than what most are used to) - bring enough clothing and necessities for 4 days - extra socks and rain ponchos are sometimes useful... The Maryland/Pennsylvania early summer can get damp - ground tarps keep tents dry. The site supplies biodegradable shampoo/soap which may be used in the shower area only. There is swimming in the creek - the creek bottom is rocky -- bring wading shoes and rafts/innertubes if possible. Kitchen, showers, and flush toilets are available only when the generators are turned on (outhouses available). Here are the Camp Policies of 4QF Note: In 2007-2008 there have been outbreaks of something that resembles Norovirus at the site. To protect yourself and others while you're at the site, wash hands after using bathrooms and before preparing or eating food. We and 4QF intend to fully sterilize all facilities before the gathering. Because of the presence of Norovirus, 4QF no longer allows self serve in the kitchen or field kitchens serving more than your own camp. |
Walking the Thresholds is a gathering for those who are not necessarily of human kind, but feel more toward a mythic flow, be they Elven, Fae, etc. The gather's purpose is to provide an interface between differing communities of folk that may have no communication otherwise. Existing bonds can be made stronger and new ones formed. We are greatly looking forward to meeting you in this woodland setting. It does not matter if one thinks one is otherkin, or thinks of it as a paradigm that they want to study...This gathering is here for intelligent exploration.
